Taking on the road by branding our vehicle with a custom number plate
As we can occasionally be spotted on the road, we have opted to brand our vehicle with a customised number plate, representing and increasing our presence whilst we are on the move.
As we continue to strive with the development of our company and brand, as always, bringing our ambitions and visions to life, we took a moment to work on a personally exciting project that sees us branding our primary vehicle by assigning a customised registration, a vanity number plate.
In the United Kingdom, vehicle registration plates are alphanumeric identifiers and were originally introduced in 1903 by the Motor Car Act following a surge in the number of vehicles on the road and the need to identify ownership. The number plates typically provide information about the vehicle's origin, age and registration details.
We have been able to acquire a dateless number plate that aligns with our branding, "EXR" being an abbreviated short code for us, and in the world of dateless number plates, "EXR" registrations were originally issued in London in 1962, therefore these plates do carry both historic and symbolic value.
Throughout the decades, various formats of vehicle registrations have been issued in the UK with revisions introduced to accommodate for the continuously increasing number of vehicles on the road, as the issuing body were running out of alphanumeric combinations assigned to consumer vehicles. The earliest formats issued were dateless plates, from 1903 to 1963. These were replaced by suffix plates from 1963 to 1983, and later by prefix plates in 1983 until 2001, where today all newly registered vehicles are assigned a current style format.
Throughout the history of number plates, businesses (and even individuals) have often sought after specific combinations of letters and numbers to act as vanity plates, for the purpose of personalising and branding vehicles, acting as another method of representing and marketing brands.
As dateless plates were the earliest to be issued, securing the registration signifies another inspiring addition to our story as we continue to progress, evolve and expand our physical presence, acting as a moniker in something subtle yet desirable. To be visible whilst we're on the move.
